Activities in St Thomas
Beaches
St Thomas is known for it’s beautiful beaches and fun beach bars & grills. We have an entire page dedicated to giving you advice on the best beaches to visit during your stay with Salty Sway Villas. Check it out here.
Kayaks & Paddle Boards
There’s a private beach at Salty Sway Villas and we offer kayaks and paddle boards for exploring. You can even take the kayaks and paddle boards to the Limetree Beach Resort next door. We recommend wearing water shoes and always keeping a close eye on children. There is no lifeguard on duty.
Snorkeling & SCUBA Diving
There’s great snorkeling right from Salty Sway beach. We recommend water shoes, as there is coral close to shore.
Limetree Beach Resort (next door) has a dive shop called Aqua Marine with daily tours. Snorkeling is typically $85 per person. They also offer PADI SCUBA courses and dive tours.
You can also visit Coki Beach for some excellence snorkeling and rent equipment right from the beach!

Stormy Pirates offer great charter services. You can find out more information by checking out their website here.

The virgin islands offer some of the most beautiful natural lands in the world. Check out the best hikes in St Thomas here.
Check out the 99 Steps in Charlotte Amalie. Originally created by the Danes to get around the unexpected hills of their new city, the staircase ultimately leads you to Blackbeard’s Castle.
History
Visit Blackbeard’s Castle, a nine-acre complex on top of Government Hill, which can be reached by climbing a few more steps after ascending the 99. Dominated by a watchtower dating from the 17th century used to guard and protect the island from pirates. Currently closed due to hurricane damage, please check with them for the most updated information on visiting.
You can also visit The World Amber Museum located in the Hotel 1829. Enjoy the waterfall entrance and over 12,000 pieces of amber. Here you’ll also find valuable antique pieces from St. Petersburg, objects made from the green Caribbean amber, and modern, movable sculptures.
